Organizing touring exhibits is one aspect of the activities of the Hasselblad Foundation. Many of the exhibits we have produced in house have also toured both in Sweden and abroad.
In recent years our exhibits have been displayed in museums and galleries in countries including Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal and the United States.
The exhibitions that will be toured by The Hasselblad Foundation at the moment are:
Ernest Cole Photographer
The South African tour started in Johannesburg Art Gallery in the autumn of 2010. During 2011 the exhibition was shown at the South African National Gallery in Cape Town, Red Location Museum in Port Elizabeth, Durban Art Gallery, and finally in Cole's township Mamelodi, at the University of Pretoria's Mamelodi Campus' library.
The exhibition was shown at the Hasselblad Center as the first exhibition 2012. Half of the exhibition is now on show at the Barbican Art Gallery in London (until 13 January 2013) and some 30 images at the present South African exhibition at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (until 3 March 2013). The entire exhibition will be shown at the Fowler Museum at UCLA in Los Angeles (7 April - 7 July 2013) and at the Grey Art Gallery at NYU in New York City in the autumn of 2014.
