Between Photography and Embroidery – Workshop with Jaana Sundström
As part of the exhibition program for Sophie Ristelhueber – Hasselblad Award 2025, we invite you to a workshop with artist Jaana Sundström. Taking Ristelhueber’s photographs as a starting point—where traces, wounds, and memories emerge in images of body and landscape—we will explore how the needle can become a tool for attaching new layers and writing further into the photograph.
The workshop begins with examples of embroidered photographs as inspiration, showing different ways to combine image and stitch. Participants will then work hands-on, embroidering photographs using prepared patterns. The format is designed to suit both beginners and experienced participants, and everyone will have time to complete their work during the session.
Date & Time: Wednesday, January 14, 5:30–7:30 PM
Venue: Hasselblad Center at the Gothenburg Museum of Art
Note: Limited seats available. Register via email at
Fee: The workshop is included in the entrance ticket and will be held in Swedish.
