Microhistory as an Artistic Practice
Welcome to a conversation with artist Magnus Bärtås and the historian Andrej Slávik about microhistory as an artistic approach.
Throughout the evening, they will introduce their idea of microhistory and provide a background on how their collaboration has developed. They will also showcase some concrete examples of artistic works with microhistorical characteristics, ultimately inviting the audience to a discussion about future possibilities. The evening is organized in connection with the exhibition of this year’s Hasselblad Award winner Ingrid Pollard and relates to her research-based artistic practice, in which she often employs in-depth investigations and analyses of social, cultural, and historical contexts in her works.
Time: Wednesday, November 6, 6-7 PM
Location: Hasselblad Center at The Gothenburg Museum of Art
Price: The event is included in the entrance ticket and will be held in English.
Participants: Magnus Bärtås and Andrej Slávik
