Hasselblad Center, Gothenburg Museum of Art

Welcome to the opening of Rise of the Sunken Sun, an exhibition in which Inuuteq Storch presents six photographic works that together form a multi-layered narrative about his homeland, Kalaallit Nunaat. Through images drawn from everyday life, travel and historical archives, Storch explores questions of belonging, identity and (de)colonisation, with a clear ambition to reclaim the narrative from external perspectives.

The exhibition was first presented in the Danish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2024 and is now shown at Hasselblad Center, where it is also placed in dialogue with Nordic and Swedish colonial history in a broader context.
